Then Why you Came Here in the First Place?

Almost every mother during her pregnancy ,and maybe even before it , thinks of her baby's future and sees it as a responsible grown-up adult who brings so much goodness and positive change into the world; she may even imagine it becoming a leader, a scientists or simply a very influential person. Whatever these expectations are, they are always about one thing: a child who will grow up to become a valuable member of their society, if not of the world.

Even if you were born in a dysfunctional family, or no real family at all, if you came "by mistake" and your mother didn't even want you, still, someone, anyone, even the doctor who was following your mother's pregnancy, had enough compassion for you and hoped that you were going to become a good human being one day. Thus, whether you wanted or not, you were made to become a person who will bring some goodness into this world, who will fix something, bring about some positive changes, this is what God, who created you, had expected from you when gave you life, and in case you don't believe in God, this is what every human being who even once saw you and said "hello sweet baby" expected from you; to cut it short, this is how the world expected to see you: a good and valuable human being.

Despite all this, since we are not puppets in anyone's hands and we still own our own destiny, once we arrive, we are faced with some choices: either fulfilling the main task we were sent for, which is doing some good to this world, or doing exactly the opposite of that and bring more destruction and misery to it, but not only this, things are not always black and white, you also have the choice to live in apathy, doing very little harm and having very little benefit to others or simply you can live all your life being brutally pulled by each side, doing some good here and ruining it all there and vice versa. You have all these choices, and even though the first one was the reason you were made for, you can still take either of the other ways, but, before that you need to ask yourself one question, if bringing some goodness into this world and making some positive changes in my world is what I am brought here for, then what the hell am I doing here if I don't do this, if I don't fulfill this goal, why am I staying here in the first place if this is not what I am going to do? You may simply say: I just came here to live and enjoy my life, well, honestly, neither this is living nor it is joy! It's actually an absolutely absurd way of living and don't expect it to offer you a meaningful or joyful life. "Why do I care!" You may say. Well, here nothing can be done to fix this attitude but explaining why this is absolutely ridiculous and absurd may help you think twice before saying so: imagine that you call the electrician and tell him to come to your place immediately because there is something wrong with the electricity and the power in the house is out. After a few minutes the electrician knocks you door and you naturally expect him to bring out his tools and start working on fixing the problem, but instead, the guy simply comes in, grabs some food from the fridge and watches TV on you couch, or he, instead of anything else, brings a can of gasoline and sets your house on fire! Imagine how ridiculous this is! How absurd and intolerable! It sounds like some annoying nightmare after a heavy meal! If the guy is not doing his job then why he came in the first place, not only this, if he's not fixing things up then why on earth he's making things worse. This is exactly the same thing with you when you choose another path than that of yours, than the one you were brought here for. This is how absurd it is when you make a different choice. So, do you and the world a favor now, do what you came here for or leave! O.k., you may have suicidal tendencies, you may be saying now: but I did not ask to come here! Exactly, neither I, nor he, she, they, his holiness the Dalai Lama, Thomas Addison, Gandhi, Elbert Einstein and anyone else in the world did, still, when they arrived they thrived through it all and gave their best to this goal and fulfilled it in the best possible way. Just because you didn't ask to come, doesn't make your situation less tolerable than theirs or make your goal less important than theirs. These people all came here the same way you did, all were given those choices and this is what they did with them, they had their own ups and downs, difficulties and misfortunes and yet they still fulfilled their essential role, so what makes your case so special!?What justifies your laziness!?

Great names were mentioned above, but this shouldn't intimidate you, not because it is impossible to be like them, no, those people were as lost and confused as you at least once in their lives before they finally earned their names, but, after all, no one asks you to be like them or to do what they did, this is a very big world and there are so many of us here, so, your role as the one who brings goodness into it, who fixes some of its shortcomings may be very simple, and yet it is very important and does make a real difference. You may simply want to be a good parent, a very good one who raises good children in a healthy family and helps them become very influential members of their society and through this you are cultivating goodness in the world and planting its seeds through your children. Or you may want to be a very good school teacher who teaches their students very important lessons in life, guides them, inspires and encourages them to reach their potentials, a teacher who helps them love that subject that you are teaching and do very well at it, you can spread the seeds of goodness through teaching and create a non-stopping process of bringing about positive changes in the world through each student you teach, this is how important your role is, so no matter what you do or where you are, make use of what you are given and reach the limits of your potentials. If there were some inspiring thoughts replaying in your head during different stages of your life, follow them, that's your path "I want to do something good to others" if you ever heard that voice before, follow it now, and if you didn't, search for it, search for your path and because it is your path, it will also run to you so you won't be searching for it for too long. Make use of this moment and do the right thing, don't say I don't know what the right thing is, it's a lie, you know, you always know, search deep inside and you will find it, because it is your basic instinct to do the right thing and as you keep doing the right thing, you will start to recognize it so easily in all the different situations. Yet, nothing is perfect, you are not perfect either, so don't be hard on yourself, you may fail sometimes, temptations may make you fall flat on your face, still, these are just small incidents, don't let them persist and make sure that at the end of the day, you still make the right choice, you still return to your path because it is the only place you belong, bringing goodness into this world is your main reason of existence, so make sure you fulfill it because if you don't then why you are here in the first place!?
