Fear Him Not, Love Him

Fear not but love; fear paralyzes you, it burdens you up and enslaves you. Fear turns you into a barren tree unable to bear fruit; it turns you into a dried up spring unable to water anyone's thirst. Fear not but love. Love liberates you; it sets you free. Love inspires you, it makes you creative, it turns you into a fruitful tree that without prejudice gives its fruit and shad to everyone and love turns you into a flowing river that lets any thirty one drink from it. Love God and fear Him not.

With love you get twice more closer to God than you would with fear. You can't hurt someone you love, you can't betray someone you love, you can't lie to someone you love, you can't  do something that breaks your bond with someone you love, and even when you do, it's a mistake you regret very soon; you repent from very soon, while when you fear Him, you desire doing all those bad things but you don't do them just because you are afraid of Him, of His wrath, of His punishment, of the torture, thus fear can lead you to rebellion, it can lead you to giving up on Him and letting go. Fear can make you desperate, helpless; it breaks your wings and drowns you in self-pity and self-hatred, while love gives you wings, it makes you fly as high as you can, it inspires you to give Him more and more for His love makes you want to please Him and make Him satisfied with you. You behave well because you love Him and don't want to make Him disappointed as you know He loves you very much and He sees so much in you, He's so proud of you, so you can't let Him down.

Our religions, our beliefs and our parents don't tell us much about loving Him. They say don't do this or that because you will make Him angry with you and He will then punish you. They don't say don't do that because He loves you and He's proud of you so when you do something that hurts you or others, it disappoints Him and hurts Him because He loves you and His other creations too much to see you hurt. Instead of showing Him as the loving caring One who watches over us and wants the best for us, instead of viewing Him as the One who is so proud of us and expects many great things from us, they view Him as a frowned ill-tempered old man who is observing us with a whip in His hand,  they view Him as a tough teacher who is always expecting the worst from us, who doubts our abilities and our intentions and He is ready to write down any bad things we do and sentence us with everlasting pain and suffering. They show Him as a passive One who is very hard to please and very hard to win His affection; therefore, almost all of us fear Him instead of loving Him, our deeds and our actions stem from our fear and despair, so they are fruitless, they don't take us far because fear can't inspire you, can't make you creative, can't make you loving towards yourself and all beings, that's why in the most rigid religious societies there is no creation, no real achievements, no talented people, no compassionate relationships and there is no unconditional love shared among people because fear paralyzes you, it takes you nowhere, it blinds you, it breaks your wings, it fills you with anger and hatred, while love liberates you, it gives you wings, it makes you overflow with so much love and affection that all you want to do is to give it away, share it with others. While fear leaves you empty-handed and makes you stingy, love fills you up, gives you all the riches and treasures of the world, it makes you generous, it makes you filled with Him, it makes you loving, compassionate, forgiving and creative. Fear Him not, love Him.
